Job Description
Manufacturing Engineer £22k - £30k
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Location: Newmarket
Salary: £22,000 - £30,000
My client is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to provide a manufacturing engineering service to ensure both existing and new products are developed in a cost effective and professional manner. In addition to this, a high degree of emphasis will be placed on continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve best practice through e.g. cost reduction, kaizen, cellular manufacturing techniques etc.
You will work within multi-functional teams on designated products to:
· Ensure the shortest and most effective development time-scale
· Carry out APQP documentation (e.g. PFMEA/DFMEA, Risk Assessment, PPAP etc.). Automotive background not essential
· Specify manufacturing processes/layout for assembly
· Specify/ design jigs, fixtures and test equipment for product manufacture and assembly. (Experience of ProE would be beneficial but not essential)
· Provide all necessary documentation to the project and manufacturing teams, e.g. work instructions.
· New Product Development
Knowledge of any of the following would be an advantage:-
· Injection Moulding.
· Surface Mount Assembly.
· Electronic assembly and test including Wave Soldering
